PRE - DYE
 If you have a white, cream or pale coloured fabric, you needn’t worry, but if you have a dark or brightly coloured fabric you’d like to change to another colour, you’ll need to remove that colour before you dye, for the best results.
Pre-Dye lightens fabric to a neutral shade, creating a ‘blank canvas’ that you can dye any colour.

The shade you achieve will depend on 3 things:
 
THE TYPE OF FABRIC
 ►Cotton, linen & viscose will dye to full shade.
 ►Polyester/cotton & polyester/viscose mixes will dye to lighter shade.
 ►Wool, silk, polyester, acrylic, nylon & fabric with special finishes e.g. ‘dry clean only’, cannot be dyed.
THE AMOUNT OF FABRIC
 ►One pack will dye up to 600g of fabric (e.g. jeans, bath towel, double sheet) to the full shade & up to 1.2kg of fabric (e.g. double duvet) to lighter shade
 ►Multiple packs will dye larger amounts to full shade, e.g. 2 packs for 1200g (e.g. double duvet) or 4 packs for 2kg (e.g. curtains)
THE ORIGINAL FABRIC COLOUR
 ►You can change one strong colour to another (or dye it to a lighter shade) by using pre - dye. This lightens the fabric before you dye.
 ►Otherwise colour mixing rules apply, e.g. blue dye on red fabric gives purple
 ►Patterned fabric. The pattern will often still show through.
 
 
HARMONY COLOURS
 Those colours that sit next to each other on the colour wheel harmonise with one another particularly well. Like yellow and green or red and orange, they are related so when used together they achieve beautifully balanced effect.

TONE COLOURS
Tones are quite simply shades of the same colour. Using different shades of a colour together can create a very coordinated look. Perhaps pair Flamingo Pink with Powder Pink or Intense Violet with French Lavender for instant charm.

CONTRAST COLOURS
Colours that sit opposite one another on the colour wheel can work brilliantly together. When you're aiming to create a visual impact or add a little drama, colour combinations like red and green or blue and yellow contrast beautifully.
